Shipping, Pickup & Merchandise Policy

Koch Family Fainters is a family-run goat breeding operation located in Indiana. This Shipping, Pickup & Merchandise Policy explains how goats and merchandise are transferred to buyers and where responsibility passes from seller to buyer.

 

By purchasing or reserving a goat or merchandise from Koch Family Fainters, you agree to the terms of this policy.

 

1. On-Farm Pickup (Goats — Preferred Method)

 

Buyers are responsible for arranging pickup of their goat(s) at our farm in Rockville, Indiana (or a nearby agreed-upon location). Pickup dates and times must be scheduled in advance. Goats must be picked up within two (2) weeks of the agreed-upon pickup date unless otherwise approved in writing. Failure to pick up a goat within this two-week window will result in boarding fees as outlined below.

 

2. Buyer-Arranged Transport (Goats)

 

If a buyer chooses to use a third-party livestock transporter, the buyer is solely responsible for selecting, scheduling, and paying the transporter. Koch Family Fainters does not guarantee or insure any third-party transporter and is not responsible for delays, injuries, illness, or death caused by transport or transporter handling. Risk of loss and responsibility transfer to the buyer at the moment the goat leaves our property, regardless of who arranged transport.

 

3. Seller-Assisted Transport (If Offered)

In limited cases, Koch Family Fainters may assist with delivery or coordination of transport as a courtesy only. Any assistance is provided without liability. Delivery fees must be paid in full before transport. Koch Family Fainters is not responsible for delays, stress, injuries, illness, or death resulting from transport.

 

4. Health at Time of Transfer (Goats)

 

All goats are healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time they leave our farm. Buyers are encouraged to visually inspect their goat at pickup. Once the goat leaves our property, all responsibility transfers to the buyer and all sales are final, subject only to our Refund & Health Guarantee Policy.

 

5. Holding & Boarding Fees (Goats)

 

Goats will be held at no charge for up to two (2) weeks after the agreed pickup date. If a goat is not picked up within that two-week period, a boarding fee of $50 per month will apply. Boarding fees must be paid in full before the goat is released to the buyer. If a goat is not picked up within thirty (30) days after the agreed pickup date, Koch Family Fainters reserves the right to cancel the sale, retain any deposit paid, and repost the goat for sale.

 

6. Required Paperwork (Goats)

 

If applicable, buyers are responsible for health certificates, interstate transport permits, and import requirements for their state. Any required documentation fees must be paid by the buyer in advance.

 

7. Weather & Force Majeure

Transport and pickup may be delayed due to extreme weather, natural disasters, illness, acts of God, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Koch Family Fainters will not be liable for delays caused by such events.

 

8. No Guarantees After Transfer (Goats)

Once a goat leaves our property, we make no guarantees regarding health, temperament, performance, or survival beyond what is stated in our Refund & Health Guarantee Policy. All goats are sold “as is.”

 

9. Governing Law

 

This policy shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Indiana.

10. Merchandise Policy (Farm-Branded Hats, T-Shirts & Sweatshirts)

 

a. Order Processing & Delivery Time

Merchandise orders are processed after payment is received in full. Orders will be fulfilled and ready for delivery or shipment within approximately 14 days from the date the order is placed. Delivery timelines are estimates only and not guaranteed.

 

b. Merchandise Shipping & Local Pickup

Local pickup is available by appointment. For shipped orders, shipping prices will be clearly posted on the merchandise sale page at checkout. Koch Family Fainters is not responsible for shipping delays caused by carriers, weather, or circumstances beyond our control. Risk of loss transfers to the buyer once the merchandise is handed to the shipping carrier.

 

c. Merchandise Refunds & Returns

All farm-branded merchandise sales are final. Refunds or exchanges will be issued only if the item received is defective or incorrect due to an error by Koch Family Fainters. The buyer must notify Koch Family Fainters within seven (7) days of receiving the item. The item must be unused, unwashed, and in original condition.

 

d. Non-Refundable Merchandise

No refunds or exchanges will be provided for incorrect size or color selection by the buyer, buyer preference changes, normal wear and tear, minor variations in color, print, or design, or items damaged due to misuse or improper care.

 

e. Approved Merchandise Refunds

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Refunds will not exceed the original purchase price of the merchandise.

 

11. Policy Changes

We reserve the right to update or modify this Shipping, Pickup & Merchandise Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
